Videos, animated films, illustrations
Mixing kawaii (“cute” or “adorable” in Japanese) aesthetic with darker elements, Strange and Wonderful is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for creators, and even more so for artists using new digital media. Whether with animated films, short films, or illustration, digital media allows us to create unusual universes which transport us to a place “outside of the world.” Sometimes dreamlike, sometimes worrying, but always poetic, the works presented in this exhibition explore our dreams and our worries, our hopes and our fears, our desires and our anxieties, like contradictory and complementary aspects which share the same world.
