Singular Narrativities
Le Cube is a partner of the 30th Jean Rouch International Festival of Ethnographic Film, with 2 days of seminars based on the theme "New Narrativities"
In November 2011, the Ethnographic Film Committee (an association founded by ethnologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch) is organising the 30th Jean Rouch International Festival on ethnographic film along with a set of seminars grouped together under the title: Seeing the World in a New Way: Thirty Years of Ethnographic Cinema.
These two days of seminars at Le Cube will promote the exploration of new forms of narrativity in the field of human and social sciences using current digital techniques. This original elaboration of various kinds of field data (interviews, narratives, photographs, music, films, sounds, measurements, sketches, notes, etc.) is designed to promote changes in the foundations of these disciplines, improved expression of contemporary realities, improved transmission of information to the public as well as the creation of new fields of expertise at the university level.
The goal is to encourage the incorporation of these individual writings which integrate interactivity and multiple points of view as well as collective creation or a sensitive approach to testimonials of all kinds by shaping their sensory apprehension.
This two-day, free access event encourages the exploration of different forms of narrativity and provides opportunities for research on ethnology or the social sciences as well as for experimental works on societies and cultures.
